How It Began...
My training started with the foundations 30 years ago: Remedial Therapies for pain and injury, exercise science, Pilates and Postural Correction — practical, science-based learning that gave me a precise understanding of how the body moves, compensates and heals. I completed qualifications in Bowen Therapy, Reiki, and Traditional Chinese Bodywork — broadening my clinical toolkit considerably.
From there I went deeper. I studied Naturopathy, Nutrition and Herbal Medicine, including the biochemistry and pathophysiology that underpin evidence-based natural healthcare.
Within my study of Chinese Medicine I was introduced to Qigong and Tai Chi. Something shifted. The integration of breath, movement and awareness — the idea that stillness itself is therapeutic — opened a dimension of healing that no Western textbook had quite captured.
My Own Journey....
Over the years, I faced my own health challenges. This was not incidental to my practice — it transformed it. When I was navigating my own recovery, I had every tool available to me, and what I learned is that the integration of approaches — not any single one — is where genuine healing happens. That experience lives in every consultation I offer.
China.....
Where Research Meets Tradition.
My introduction to teacher training in Medical Qigong began with Master Simon Blow, whose grounded and practical approach deepened my understanding & formalised my ability to teach a more traditional style of Qigong.
In 2018, and again in 2025, I travelled to China with Master Simon, spending time at the Institute of Chinese Medicine—where researchers are actively working to translate Eastern healing into the language of modern science and integrate it into Western healthcare systems.
We also travelled to Wudang Mountain, the birthplace of Tai Chi, where my understanding continued to deepen through practice—experiencing stillness, breath, and gentle movement as direct pathways to self-healing.
These are not metaphors. They are practices with measurable physiological effects—and the body of research continues to grow.
What I Believe....
I believe that Qigong, in particular, deserves a place alongside conventional medicine — not as an alternative to it, but as a complement. The evidence for its benefits in cancer care, respiratory health, chronic pain and nervous system regulation is now substantial. I am committed to helping build the bridge between Eastern practice and Western acceptance. This is the work I bring to my practice, and to every person who walks through the door.
What I bring....
My clinical background spans naturopathy, Nutrition, Herbal Medicine, Remedial Therapy, Pilates and several Bodywork Traditions. That foundation informs everything I do — you will feel its depth in the quality of care — but Qigong and breath are where I am called to focus, and where I believe the most profound healing is available.
I practise what I teach. I teach what I know works.
I look forward to sharing it with you.
