In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Reishi

Eat the rainbow 🌈

This morning’s breakfast went straight onto the BBQ — and onto the plate in full colour.
Red capsicum, eggplant, red & orange carrot, broccoli, pumpkin, mushrooms, onion, garlic, sourdough, and eggs… simple, vibrant, and deeply nourishing.

Each colour carries its own unique nutrients — supporting everything from energy and immunity to gut and nervous system health.

I was chatting with my granddaughter about this recently, and it reminded me how natural it can be… When we add colour, we add nourishment without even overthinking it.

Standing on Wudang Mountain changed how I understand healing.

In 2025, I returned to China with Master Simon Blow — this time travelling to Wudang Mountain, the birthplace of Tai Chi.

There's no way to fully prepare for what you feel standing in that place. The stillness. The altitude. The sense that every breath matters. What I was reminded of — and what modern medicine is only beginning to catch up to — is that the body heals best when it is quiet.
Not passive.
Quiet.
Qigong and Tai Chi teach us to move with intention, breathe with awareness, and allow the nervous system to shift out of fight-or-flight and into restoration. This is not mysticism.
This is physiology.

I've spent 30 years studying & practicing the foundations
— Remedial Therapies for pain & injury, Exercise Science, Pilates & Postural Correction- understanding how the body moves, compensates & heals.
Nutritional Medicine, including biochemistry & pathophysiology that underpin evidence based natural health.

What I know is that stillness is not the opposite of treatment. It IS the treatment. I share this because so many of my clients come to me after years of managing symptoms without ever addressing the root. 🌿

A few years ago, I wasn't sure what my body was capable of anymore.

My 50s came with questions, health concerns, and moments where I had to be honest with myself about what was changing. It wasn't easy. Some days, it was scary. But somewhere in the middle of all that uncertainty, I made a decision
— not to fight my body, but to work with it.

Show up — even slowly, even imperfectly.

I couldn't do everything I once could. And that slowly became okay.

What I could do was practice gentle movement every day. For me, Qigong worked best — and walking on flat ground outside in the fresh air. Soon, I had enough strength to challenge the hills.
Now, in my 60s, slowly, I gained the confidence to ride a bike again.

Nobody talks enough about the quiet courage it takes to just start — not from a place of strength, but from a place of "let's see what's still possible." That's where I began. That's still where I begin, most mornings.

Your version of healthy doesn't have to look like anyone else's. It just has to be honest, and it just has to be yours.

Do what you can. Be gentle with what you can't. Keep going. 💛
